I suppose it is always best to start out with the bad news: my external hard-drive failed and I'm currently without all my music, samples and ReFills - all 200+GB of it. I'm having a friend take a second look at it. Let's hope he can salvage it!
It's a good thing I've been hosting and posting all my mash-ups online to share with all of you - otherwise I'd be screwed for the following good news:
I'm performing live on ECMA Radio tomorrow!
Tune into ECMA Radio 100.1 FM tomorrow evening for an exclusive Mash-Up set from your's truly. I'll be performing in association with "Sound Art? Sounds Eclectic..." which is a series on sound art and electronic music brought to you by the good folks of the ECMA Arts & Cultural Linkages Committee, a new initiative for the 2009 East Coast Music Awards.
Can't get us on the radio? Tune into the live online radio stream by visiting http://www.bayofislandsradio.com/

We Want Your Blue Flower

We Want Your Blue Flower (Orli & Martie & Jerome Isma-Ae vs. Adam Freeland vs. Eiffel 65) [Dirty] by DJ Dain
The first draft of this mash-up involved Britney Spear's "Gimmie More", but decided against it since Britney mash-ups are a dime a dozen. I think that the lyrics from Adam Freeland and Eiffel 65 play off each other rather well in a sociological kind of way. It's funny how my major sneaks into my work like that.

Sometimes We Let It Rock
Sometimes We Let It Rock (Les Rhythmes Digitales & Computer Club vs. Kevin Rudolf ft. Lil' Wayne) [Dirty]
Sometimes We Let It Rock (Mash-up) [Dirty] by DJ Dain
I never heard of Kevin Rudolf before until I started browsing the Top 10 Hit Lists for new pop material. I must say, his single "Let it Rock" is quite catchy. I decided to speed it up a little with the Computer Club's rocking remix of Les Rhythmes Digitales' "Sometimes." It took a while to get the pitches right, but I've been very pleased with the final result.

Hustlin Baba O'Reilly (The Who & SebastiAn vs. Rick Ross) [Clean] by DJ Dain
This is arguably my Magnum Opus of mash-ups. I love everything about this one - quite possibly my feel-good track of the year.
